Harlington Railway Station, Bedfordshire

We’re welcoming in the New Year by welcoming even more stations to our family of bee-friendly railway station projects

As part of on ongoing project with Govia Thameslink to install homes for nature across their network of stations, we have:

  • Planted a forgotten area in front of London Blackfriars Station’s south entrance with rosemary and spring bulbs, plus installed a hibernaculum and bird boxes. The bee box, though, has arguably the best view of St. Paul’s Cathedral in the city.
  • Installed bird boxes, a hibernaculum and a bee hotel at London’s Kentish Town Underground Station in the original giant brick planters.
  • Positioned gabion homes for nature throughout the car park at St. Albans Station and Radlett Station, Hertfordshire.
  • Transformed the bank on Harlington Station’s northbound platform (Bedfordshire) with hibernaculum, bird boxes and a bee hotel.
This brings our bee-friendly railway station projects count ever closer to 100 – know of a station near you that would make a wonderful wildlife habitat? Contact us and let us know about it.
