When the Bee Friendly Trust launched 10 years ago, its mission was simple: to create habitats where bees and all pollinators could thrive. Working at railway stations, Bee Friendly Trust projects form natural pollinator pathways where wildlife can find shelter, food and nesting spots.
We have worked closely with a number rail networks and community groups to make our mission a reality, including TfL, Network Rail, Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership, GWR and the Severnside Community Rail Partnership.
So what better way to celebrate our collaborations than with this beautiful new planter at Bristol’s Redland Railway Station.
Not only does it celebrate 10 years of the Bee Friendly Trust but it also marks our 100th Bee Friendly Planter Project.
Thanks to GWR and the Severnside Community Rail Partnership for helping this planter to happen.
Like all of our stations planters, this one is filled with bee-friendly plants such as lavender, rosemary, scabious and ceanothus, all of which attract and support pollinators.
Also, like many of our planters, this one at Redland will be looked after by local volunteers.
We are eternally grateful to public support to keep our projects thriving and buzzing!
The Bee Friendly Trust will be marking its 10th anniversary with a number of exciting new projects and events throughout 2026; follow us here and on Instagram @beefriendlytrust to stay updated.
