When The Metropolitan District Railway was extended towards Wimbledon in 1880, a new station was opened at Parsons Green.
Nearly 6 million passengers now use the station every year, many in the two weeks of the Wimbledon tennis championships. There are two gated gardens on the station forecourt which had long been neglected and overgrown, and home to rough sleepers, drug takers and thieves.
We were asked to tame the vegetation and create two micro wildlife gardens complete with bird boxes and bug hotels.
