Worcestershire Parkway, railway station, Bee Friendly Trust eco area

We are proud to unveil the first phase of our exciting new project at Worcestershire Parkway Railway Station, Worcestershire.

We worked with Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership and local schoolchildren to transform land at the station into a new community Eco Area, designed for wildlife, learning and wellbeing.

We ran wildlife workshops, where around 100 children, shared their ideas about the animals that they had seen (or might see) in the Eco Area. They drew pictures of the wildlife and each picture was brought to life, etched into new wooden benches and information boards.

To celebrate the launch, pupils returned to Worcestershire Parkway to see their designs and officially open the space to the public. For many, it was the first time they had contributed to a public space that will be enjoyed by thousands of people each year.

With thanks to funding from Community Rail Network, CrossCountry, Great Western Railway and the Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership, this phase is just one of many phases, which will see us add to the site with dual purpose artworks that both celebrate up-and-coming British artists and provide habitats to the Eco Area’s resident wildlife, which include the Lesser Horseshoe Bat.

We’ll be publicing information about public workshops to take place in the Eco Area in 2027, very soon.

In the meantime, read some of the media coverage this project has already received!
