Northfields Station was designed by Charles Holden and opened in 1932. It is Grade II listed, including the original planters on the forecourt and platforms.

When the Bee Friendly Trust was called in, the planters were sadly very neglected. Alongside, station staff, our team revived them and in 2026 volunteers from the Northfields Community Library adopted the planters to ensure they remain looking as good as the rest of the classic architecture.
